Lynda's Legacy was founded in 2002 following the death of Lynda Drabek at the far-too-young age of 30. Since then, thousands of people have heard Lynda's life story and been inspired and empowered to change the world one person at a time, one kind act at a time through Random Acts of Kindness.
As a teenager, Lynda was diagnosed with a terminal pulmonary disease and later required a heart-double-lung transplant (first successful of its kind in Colorado), followed by a heart re-transplant and lung re-transplant. Throughout her life, Lynda remained determined to make hers a story not about dying, but about being as alive as possible for as long as possible. That attitude led her to gracefully embrace her circumstances and, rather than be consumed with thoughts of those things she could not do, focus her attention on those things she could do.
Lynda lived a life full of courage, kindness and compassion that led her to earn a degree in non-profit management and be an active volunteer in her community. One of her greatest legacies is her frequent and heartfelt participation in the Random Acts of Kindness movement and the various ways in which she inspired those around her to themselves engage in the movement as a means of keeping her spirit alive.
